Why we need an International Men’s day

Disclaimer:

I am not a MCP or even a MC. But, I am just jotting down my observations. And please for God’s sake, if you are going to be critical please be logical in your arguments.

This started in response to my tweet today:

This led to few females commenting that it was not possible and in response I posted a long reply which I decided to turn it into a blog post.

From childhood to boyhood a man listens to his mom and is influence by his mom to a larger extent than the dad. From boyhood to manhood, a man listens to his mom AND his girlfriend(s) (if any). From manhood to deathbed, a man listens to his wife AND his mistress(es) (if any) ;)

In all of these scenarios – the baby/boy/man will be made to change by his mom, his girlfriend(s), his wife, his mistresses.

Most of the domestic appliances have been designed by men FOR women. Take a simple thing like a toilet seat, men don’t need it, but it still is there. Dish washers, washing machines all of these were instruments to make a women’s life easier. The only goddamn domestic appliance we need is the TV, fridge, a computer, a gaming console and a DVD player…. See More
NOTE: I am NOT saying that a woman’s place is to do all of these things, but these appliances when they were first designed were in an era where women did all of these things by hand. If, I go by the cock-a-bull story of men suppressing women and all that crap then why did men design these and buy it for their women. I am not saying some men weren’t assholes, that doesn’t make the rest of us, one, does it?

Let’s take something as simple as clothes, look at the variety of clothes that a female can choose – jeans, skirts, dresses, blah blah, I don’t even know the others, they are far too many to remember. For men, there are only shorts, jeans and trousers. Coincidence or simple economics at play? My bet is on the latter.

This entire women’s liberation which garnered attention because of their bra burning antics was simply a revolt against times. I have more respect for the women of older generation than the current generation because women’s lib has been hijacked by females who think they can do whatever the shit they want to do under the guise of women’s lib. They forgot, the great saying by Spiderman’s uncle (a man mind you :P) – “With great power, comes great responsibility”.

But, the fact of the matter is that the man maybe called the head of the family, but he is only a titular head, much like a President in our country, with the woman controlling everything and I mean everything.

What do you think? Are men more deserving of an international day dedicated to them or not?

    Hello venkotesh
I would like to add something as said one of my friend ‘years ago manhood was an opportunity for achievement and succes but now it’s become problem to be overcome” we men are treated like or made to feel like criminal anywhere on this planet earth.i have so many things to say that i could write a book on it. but i try to keep it brief in this way you asked why we need men’s day ? for number of reasons just few given below
1)it’s become politically correct that if you want to secure women’s right you need to tear men down in any way possible.
    2) to prevent criminalization of men . it’s become so epidemic that we can be treated like scum within 100yards of women and children out of no reason but being men.
3)in this world we men and women both have our unique problems while women’s problem being addresed on a regular basis being funded with lot of bucks but not a penny has been allocated for welfare of men and boys .
4)do me and youself a favour if you take time out from busy schedule just go to google and type” female solo traveler in india” they made india the rape capital of world .and little wonder you dont have to use your gray matters to get that who the perpetraitors are .just 5 or 6 cases has been reported so far ( 4 out of them are concensul intercourse), those women who have no idea about our country go on to such extent to cast suspicion on 7 years boy to be potential sexual offender.
5)if you are a man and going to shoping mall, night clubs, swiming club, resort,or anywhere sigle men not allowed in.we are likely criminals of all unlikely crimes.
In a nutshell, in order to fight those monumental resistanse and stereotyping imposed on us we need men’s day to fight that and help find ourself in a comfortable world.
last week i went to a nightclub reached there only to be told that they cater to couples, lesbian, gay, transsexual except single men.money they get from men because women and lesbo get in for free and we are refused entry.even men dont speak up for other men. having an arguement with women can be treated as sexual harrasement nowadays.
    take care

  • Dude,

International Men’s Day(IMD) is on 19th November and it is catching up all over the world.

Last year, apparel brand Allan Solly even gave special discounts to men in Bangalore on IMD.

Just search in google and you will get wikipedia link.

  • Thanks Max and glad you liked my blog :)

  • Thanks Sumanth for that kind update.
