It was not the movie that I expected and by the way the running time is definitely more than 2.40 hrs as listed here. Hrithik looked an emperor, but was not an emperor except in a few scenes where his dialogue delivery was powerful but his expressions lacked the intensity needed. Aishwarya as always put in a pathetic performance, the sword fights was especially irritating as she was being portrayed as a brave fighting Rajput Princess but you could see that she had difficulty in wielding the sword. Ashutosh Gowariker's direction was good though it was tending towards perfectionism but still I am giving this movie a star for his direction. I felt 300 was a more impactful movie when it came to battle ground scenes, it did not have that intensity in this movie and that was a major drawback. A R Rahman music apart from the song Jashan-e-bahaare was not worth the effort. Also, some scenes were farcical, Akbar revokes the pilgrim tax and he becomes a hero. Come on!!! All in all, usual Hrithik + Ash hyped up movie. Definitely not worth spending over 3 hours in the movie. I felt Meet the Spartans was a better movie and in fact I was telling my friends that this movie is so dumb, it should be spoofed and it would be so easy and really funny to do so.
