Inside the mind and heart of Venkatesh Sridhar

I want to thank all the women in the world for destroying the age old debate about which sex is smarter. You women lost this debate straps (:P) down, when you posted the color of your bra as your FB status. While breasts and bras can be sexy, trust me I am a straight man I KNOW , Breast cancer is a serious and sometimes a deadly disease.

The whole idea of the person(s) who came up with the whole draw attention to breasts thereby drawing attention to breast cancer, may have been for a noble cause. But they, made an error of judgement, once the attention was drawn to the breasts, it was arrested and never moved beyond to address the cause of breast cancer, which is what was hoped for, I believe rather I hope.

Unless of course, this was some genius dude who came up with an ingenious idea of getting his female friends to share their bra colors, then I bow to thee.

Because, when a female talks about the color of her bra, this is what pops into a straight male’s head in the following sequence:

1. Yay Boobies!!
2. Is it lacy, satin, silk or cotton?
3. Can I see them?
4. Yay Boobies!! Boobies!!
5. How would it be looking on that particular female?
6. Yay Boobies!!Yay More Boobies!!Boobies :O

Now, contrast this with when a female updates about breast cancer, the following thought pops up into a straight male’s head:

1. Why God, why do you have to create such a beautiful creation and then mar it with something as deadly as cancer, Damn You!
2. Breast Cancer
3. Holy Shit!!
4. Breast Cancer
5. Double Damn!!

As you see, the second example brings attention to the issue at hand (no pun intended here ) whereas the first example brings undue attention to something well, private.

The biggest difference is that when you mention the bra color, all we straight males start thinking! Whereas when you talk about breast cancer, we sympathize and sometimes even blame God for being cruel at times.

This whole gimmick just proved that a few things which women think is cutesy, fun and rebellious and makes a point. Guess what!! The thing doesn’t move beyond cutesy and fun in the straight male heads.

And to top it, some women proved that they were dumber than others and posted what underwear they wear wearing, I guess they were bringing attention to Ovarian cancer, perhaps?

As a responsible straight male concerned about his female friends, when I point this out I am the jackass!! I was like WTF!

A friend even told me to stop thinking with my dick, I wondered WTF was she thinking with.

Being a reasonable logical and smart straight man, I guess those who didn’t put the status updates were either smarter or they were not wearing a bra.

My money is on the latter :P

P.S: Women who are married are automatically assumed to be in the former unless they are dumber and post something like “red with drops of milk” like one lady seems to have done so!
